St Andrew’s Day STUC March and Rally

The STUC is organising the annual St Andrew’s Day anti-racism march and rally on Saturday 26 November.  The march will assemble at 10.30am at Glasgow Green and from 11.00am will progress through the streets of Glasgow to the Glasgow Film Theatre on Rose Street, where there will be a rally with speakers from 12 noon.  The theme of this year’s march is ‘No Racism:  Protecting Rights, Defending Communities.’

The short film of Nae Pasaran is now available online to watch for free.

The short film was commissioned in 2013, through the Scottish Documentary Institute’s Bridging the Gap scheme for emerging filmmakers.

It became the starting point for the research that led to the feature film, which will be released next year.

Leadership in education – Aberdeen

On 25 November 2016, UCU is holding a half day course aimed at those hoping to progress to a leadership role or who would like to consolidate their leadership or team management skills.

The course covers:

  • understanding your way of working and how to become more effective
  • introduction to different management and leadership styles in education
  • what makes a good leader.
